2010年12月1日晚6點半，佛山保利洲際酒店總經理謝明德先生，南海慈善會陳秘書長與來自南海福利中的孤兒們一起將酒店大堂一顆高達8米的圣誕樹點亮。圣誕樹亮起的同時，酒店花園和大堂的圣誕裝飾燈齊明；圣誕老人帶著禮物出場，伴著酒店員工唱詩班演唱的悠揚圣誕歌曲，大家一邊歡呼，一邊合影，留下圣誕節美好的精彩畫面。
這次圣誕亮燈儀式也是酒店發起的“放飛心愿、傳遞幸福”的愛心慈善活動的啟動儀式：凡在12月1日至12月31日在酒店消費的賓客，都可以在酒店定制的“心愿卡”上寫下心愿。酒店每收集到一張心愿卡，就捐出1元善款，幫助福利院的孤兒，實現他們的新年愿望。1張心愿卡+1份愛心=酒店1元善款，我們希望通過這樣的活動，讓更多有愛心的客人參與進來，將幸福和歡樂傳遞…...當天參加亮燈儀式的嘉賓都在酒店的心意卡上為孩子們寫下了美好的祝愿。

從佛山保利洲際義工隊成立以來，隊伍在不斷壯大，發起和組織了很多社會公益活動。例如：在酒店未開業的時候就在中秋節探望敬老院的阿公阿婆，幫助他們修理家具；在今年八月份南海桂城公共自行車系統啟動后，酒店為倡導酒店客人綠色出行，酒店總經理謝明德先生率先組織員工騎自行車環繞千燈湖，把這種體驗分享給賓客；酒店義工隊定期探望星輝特殊學校的孩子們，與該校師生一起慶祝傳統的中秋節，和他們一起過生日，與他們慶祝西方的感恩節，并同孩子們一起做游戲，寧靜的校園因洲際義工隊的到來而歡聲一篇，洲際義工隊的成員們以自己的愛心來關愛這些特殊兒童，給他們帶來歡笑。
佛山保利洲際酒店在以后的日子里也會一如既往的做社會公益活動，并且以其企業影響力引起社會各界人士及其他企業對社區貢獻一份力量，繼續做好佛山的形象大使。

Meanwhile, “Make your wish “ charity activity ceremony started with lighting ceremony. All you need to do is to write down your new year’s wishe on our tailor made Christmas card in return hotel will donate 1 Yuan for each card collected to Nanhai Charity Society during 1st to 31st of December. All the people attended lighting ceremony write down their new year’s wish and drop into our wish card box.
One of the missions for InterContinental Foshan is to work closely with local communities in order to contribute our strength for the harmonious development of society. After InterContinental Foshan volunteer team been build, we visit the senior person at nursing home last Mid-Autumn day; organizing the ride bicycle around area, because we encouraged people to live in low-carbon lifestyle; we also have fun with children at Xinghui special school regularly.
InterContinental Foshan has received the honor “Charity Undertaking Company” from Nanhai Charity Association. The hotel will continuous doing social welfare activities in the future andhelp the community become better and better.
